Making Traveller Geomorphs Extractions for use on VTT

I describe here how I used some quickly built AI Java tools to extract images from a PDF book, capture sub images from each page, and add the ability to colorize them Traveller Geomorphs is a collection of spaceship, or space station deck plans useful for RPGs needing maps or miniatures.

PDF to image step:

1. Download Geomorphs pdf from travellerrpgblog.blogspot.com
2. Download my pdf-utils project from github.
3. Compile and run PDFImgExtractor against the location where you are keeping your geomorphs PDF.
4. It saves a series of images to a folder with the same name as the pdf file's prefix.

Colorize images step:

1. Download my ImageColorApp
2. Compile and run ImageColorApp against the image folder with the color that you want to convert the images to, ex. FF0000
3. It creates a folder with that color name with the colorized images in it.
4. Can use these images on VTT.

Unit 9/MMF Mini Finder

• 06/18/2026 - Mini Finder - continuing to add features. Used in conjunction with HAR toolkit, I use this to:
  1. Organizes minis from UNIT9, but could be adapted for other libraries for projects from etsy, kickstarter, or patreon, that come in a versioned or collection approach.
  2. Assuming you have images of consistent square dimensions in a variety of folders under a primary directory
  3. Visit my mini factory, step through the images
  4. Using dev tools, copy that HAR for that session to a file in a particular location
  5. Use HAR tool to capture images similarly named to a common folder. I name mine YYYY-MM for example
  6. In Mini finder, scan for new images
  7. It will respond with new images, organized by folder name.
  8. It tries to capture good name from the image.
  9. Now can add metadata about the miniature, tracking Name, Species, Gender, number in image, number printed, whether the image is gray or color mode
  10. Stores to local database, for searching, traversing
  11. Can search on any of the stored attributes
  12. Added ability to copy data more easily between minis
  13. Added a random feature to display a random set
